Full Description

Decoy ponds surrounded by woodland. Oblong pond (2 acres of water) - `from each corner of the pond radiated a pipe, 22ft wide at the mouth, perhaps 40yds long, and narrowing down as it curved away into the bushes, until, at the far end, it terminated in a ditch .....'(S1). Detailed account of its use in 1931 in (S1).
Decoy designed and made by Sir Robert Harland about 1830 (S2). May have replaced earlier mill pond - see Un.
