Full Description

Large post mill with two storey roundhouse. Built in 1824, it was pulled down during the Great War for scrap. The roundhouse remains, converted into a house. There were four patent sails, three pairs of stones and a fantail above the back gable. When advertised in 1838, it was described as "the finest and best post mill ever erected in Suffolk", which may well have been true (S1)(S2).
