Full Description
St Margaret's Church, Cowlinge, is situated NE of the village. This Med church is built of septaria and brick and dates from early C14. It has arcades of octagonal piers with broadly moulded arches. The aisle windows have nice flowing tracery (motif of floor-petalled flowers). There is a N porch which is Perpendicular, a clerestory with quatrefoil windows and a brick tower which was built by Francis Dickens in 1733 (S1).
