Full Description

Broad linear pond, circa 90m long x 30m wide, bounding the N side of the former outer court to Nettlestead Hall. The 1902 edition of the 1:10560 map shows a boat house in the middle of the N side at TM 0883 4936; not shown on the modern 1:10000 map. Apparently known as `The Canal' in the C19 (S1). Still known as `The Canal' (S2).
