Full Description
April 1890: Another well/pit/feature with timber board lining and ties (similar to ones seen at Covehithe, COV Misc, in 1870-1875 and at Easton Bavents, EBV Misc, in 1888) discovered with quantity of broken pottery. "Situated under, or very nearly under, the extemity of the road which ends there abruptly at the edge of the cliff", "the beach is said to have been strewed with it" (pottery). Author gives theory of boundary shafts and dates as Rom (S1).
More probably Med in light of description and finds since (JCO ? 1976)(S3) and see COV 005.
Grid reference altered OS (S4).
1988: Site now totally destroyed by continued cliff erosion. Also listed under Med.
