Full Description

Feb 1992: section through Black Ditches (CAM 001) dug in advance of pipe laying. Unfortunately the course of the pipe trench meant that the section had to be dug at a very oblique angle. Details in archive (S1). Only finds from the Black Ditches were residual (?) worked flints. A Preh occupation layer, containing worked & burnt flints and shallow gullies of varying dates were excavated SW of the Black Ditch earthworks (S2). Two small fragments of pottery were recovered from PMed(?) contexts (S1).
