Full Description
June 1992: archaeological cleaning & recording of part of the Black Ditches dug away during gravel extraction in late 1991/early 1992 (CAM 001), with a further area where the topsoil was stripped. The two vertical sections either side of the damaged area were cleaned and recorded. The stripped area was also recorded. Two parallel ditches, major one on W side with a smaller one on the E side of the presumed line of the bank, were planned. Late Iron Age style pottery was recorded from the smaller of the two ditches. Details in (S1).
