Full Description

Cropmark of square moat in field NE of Edwards' Farm. Darker areas to N may indicate fish ponds (S1).
1998: appears as square moat (?) within rectangular field system (some surviving on 1880s OS map) with occasional ponds and other ditches (?) in close vicinity of moat (S2).
1880s OS mapping shows part survival of elements of moat and irregular ponds to SE. Surviving lengths of moat marked on 6 inch map (1957).
2009: farmer of field immediately to west reported lots of oyster shells in field (adjoining moat).
Futher moat or ponds to S of and around Edward's Farm (not HERd).
These sites may lie on edges of former Coles Green.
