Full Description
1992: Fieldwalking assessment for proposed Suffolk water pipeline route located a high density scatter of Medieval pottery sherds. Close to the site of the former pond, finds included 31 Medieval pottery sherds and 1 burnt flint. From the rest of the field, finds included 1 flint flake and 1 medieval pottery sherd. Monitoring identified a further 93 sherds of pottery dating from 13th-14th century over 30 metres of the pipeline. The site had already been damaged by machine tracks (S1).
For other sites found during fieldwalking and monitoring of pipeline see SDG 016, SDG 017, SDG 018, SDG 019, SDG 020.
