Full Description
Howe Wood is shown and named on the 1841 Tithe Map and Apportionment, also shown on OS 1:10560 map; modern 1:10000 map shows only a narrow strip at the northern end as surviving. Wood felled circa 1963-4 (S2). Field pattern shown on 1841 Tithe Map suggests that the wood originally extended further west and south.
