Full Description

Church of St John the Baptist. Consists of chancel, nave, S porch, W tower. Not in Domesday survey although the S doorway is Norman (C12) with good and unusual arch mould and there is a simple N door of the same date, as is lower portion of tower and nave and S porch. C14 chancel and upper tower. Scratch dial on chancel. There is a sanctus bell window in tower, a traditional font with emblems of Trinity and Passion and a simple C15 screen. All other woodwork modern. Restoration of 1867/68 (S1)(S2)(S3).
The church is thought to be included in the Domesday survey as one of the churches documented for the parish of Boyton (S4).
