Full Description

Undated (early C20?) note records 'when the railway was built, about site of present station, was found extensive foundations, indicating site of a big house. A little house said to be on site at that time' (S1). The railway line was probably built circa 1860. Hodskinsons map of 1783 marks 'Cavendish Place' in the approximate area adjoining the A1092 to the N (S2).
