A church is recorded in Charsfield in the Domesday survey with 36 acres belonging to the church, valued 3s.
Church of St Peter. Consists of continuous nave and chancel, S porch, W tower. Norman windows in nave, C13 window in chancel, C14/C15 main structure, C16 porch.
Note: Carved beam (1585) in ringers gallery came from Rectory when it was demolished (S1).
