Full Description
A James I (VI) (AD 1604-1619) silver penny (second issue) was donated to Moyses Hall Museum in 1984 by the finder (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s).
On the obverse side of the coin the following appears: a rose (i.m.) (I) DG ROSA SINE SPIN(A); i.m. is illegible. On the reverse side there is the depiction of a thistle and the legend TUEAT(UR) UNITA DEVS. The coin was found with a metal detector (S1).
