Full Description

An EBA adze, circa 20cm long, made from epidiorite (stone) and broken was acquired by Moyses Hall Museum in 1984.
The adze (axe) is 8cm wide and has a bored centre for a shaft. It was found at Beck Row, Mildenhall in 1912. Formerly it was housed in Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM Number 33-947(6)). It has an Edwardson (former curator of BSEMH) number E38 Petrological identification number S15 (S1).
