Full Description

Cropmark - ring ditch, approximately 25m in diameter with dark central blob. Site within complex of field boundaries (KIR 016). Ring ditch itself possibly within enclosure land bisected by further field/enclosure boundary (S1).
A ring ditch is visible as a slightly irregularly shaped cropmark, enclosing an area between 11 and 13 metres in diameter, centred on circa TM28473996 in Kirton parish. The ditch appears to be approximately 1 metre wide, although it is difficult to be more precise as crop patterns on the photograph partially obscure the archaeological feature. A central cut feature may be present but is unclear for the same reason. This may be the remains of a Bronze Age barrow. (S2)
