Full Description

Cropmarks - complex, large area of field boundaries and enclosures(?) including KIR 017 and 018 and ring ditch KIR 015 (S1).
Extent of cropmarks unknown.
Features previously recorded as possible field boundaries and enclosures visible as cropmarks are probably forming over non-archaeological features, probably frost-crack periglacial geological patterning. Narrow linear cropmarks running roughly south-west to north-east in this area are probably post-medieval field-boundaries or may relate to a tram-way that serviced a coprolite extraction pit (roughly 60m X 45m in extent) at TM2840 4006, marked on the first edition ordnance survey map of circa 1884. (S2, S3)
