1086: 1 church and 8 acres and 2 small holders listed at Bucklesham in Domesday survey.
Church of St Mary consists of chancel, nave, S aisle, small wooden bell- turret and spire (shingled broach) C14/C15: original building. 1878: Almost entirely rebuilt to designs of William Smith (S1).
