Full Description
May 1994: Small area of platform gunflint waste identified during very rapid survey of areas adjacent to Elms Plantation flint pits site (BRD 067), within block to S of Elms Plantation where former pine trees had been cleared, the land surface prepared (raked?), and replanted circa 1 year previously. Only surface visible was shallow planting furrows, circa 2m apart, one of which had exposed a mass of knapped blades (sample taken, mostly left in situ), over a 2-3m length, together with a few core pieces. No further debritage was noted within this mass except a single removed bulbar waste segment from a blade.
Further concentrations, although not as dense, were noted further to SW along S edge of Elms Plantation and into mature woods off SW edge of Plantation (S1).
Further debritage to east - see BRD 215.
