Full Description
Possible park at Sibton Abbey associated with Scriveners House (built early 17th century?, demolished circa 1790) - see SBT 002 for details. Little detail available (held in Scrivener family archives?) - see (S1), though Abbey Wood to N includes what appears to be a new landscape lake (both on 1880s OS map) that is not shown on Hodskinsons 1783 map. Mapped in HBSMR after OS 1880s mapping to include Abbey Wood, lake and SBT 002 (Scrivener's house) and area S of stream as suggested by Hodskinson's mapping (though he doesn't actually define a park).
Further details needed. May be worth checking 'The Sibton Abbey Estates: Select Documents 1325-1509' edited by AH Denney (1960) in Suffolk Records Office.
