Full Description
Cropmark of rectilinear enclosure, open ended to W (S1), circa 70m wide by 70 long to open end.
The cropmarks of a rectilinear ditched enclosure and possible ditched track of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs, to the south of Low Road and east of By Road Farm, centred approximately on TM 372903, Mettingham parish. The enclosure and ditched trackway do not appear to be associated features. The enclosure measures approximately 30 metres wide and 60 metres long, the long axis roughly north-east to south west. The southern end abuts a linear feature, possibly a field boundary. The northern end may also abut such a feature but the cropmarks are less clear here. The ditched track or road runs almost north-south and is visible only for only circa 40 metres to the immediate east of the enclosure. (S2, S3)
