Full Description

Bridge crossing `Bawdsey Fleet' on Hodskinson's 1783 map (S1). Not shown on OS 1st edition map of 1838 but a bridge exists in same general location on 1973 OS map. Construction date unknown but probably connected to building of coastal defence bank along River Deben. Reclamation of saltmarsh was carried out in C16/C17 (S2).
