Ancient Woodland as defined in (S1).
For details of history and earthworks see (S1), Suffolk Wildlife Trust, English Nature and County Countryside Section (Peter Holborn & Jeff Sinclair).
E half of this woodland (as shown on 1597 & 1880s maps) now cleared for arable field (S1)(S2). W half shown on 1880s OS map but not on 1597 map. For mounds within existing wood see BRR 038 & 039.
