Full Description
Amount of fragmentary limestone (both oolitic of Barnack type and non-oolitic of N. Northants type) architectural fragments and fence building material rescued from demolished section (where new garage built) of C19 flint wall to rear of 32 High Street, Brandon (S1). In total about 5 to 10 wheelbarrow loads. Some visible portions of same still (or recently rebuilt into?) E end of same wall. Date - no later than C15, probably C13 (S2) although no closely dateable fragments yet seen. Clearly from important (local?) building - perhaps restoration of church, BRD 049, the early church(?) site at BRD 018 or the Bridge Chapel (BRD 094 or BRD 112).
Formerly recorded as BRD MISC
