Full Description

June 1995: Rom finds from rapid metal detector survey of small cultivated field (finder's `Field 1') within paddock area on (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s). Some (not all) pottery collected and metalwork found using discriminator on detector (i.e. excluding lead & iron). Worked flints present but not collected. Finds identified include group of circa 16 coins from small (circa 8m x 8m) area at (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s). All 22 coins so far identified on field are C3/C4 in date (from circa AD 270-378)(S2). Further details to follow (S1).
Includes area of Rom pot scatter, EXG 024 (?). Also occasional Un, Med & PMed sherds & metalwork, including two cut half pennies of Henry III & John (?). Details in (S2).
August 1995: Further 15 (C2-C4) coins plus lozenge shaped enamel fitting (? LIA/Rom drawing in file)(S2).
June 1996: Further 81 (mainly Rom but including one of Henry VII) coins from EXG 053 & 054, plus lots of pottery and worked flints (S1). Details to follow.
