Full Description

Extract from Inquisitions of Ninths of 1341 - Theberton: item tithes of turbary valued at 16s 4d (S1).
Ridgard states that Theberton Bogs are `unquestionably flooded peat-cuttings dating back, in charter material, to at least the 12th century' (S2). Theberton Bogs is presumably the same as the area defined as Theberton Common by Hodskinson (S3). The extent or location of the peat extraction within this area is unknown.

Formerly recorded as THB MISC
