Full Description
Mound in grounds of and to N of Sutton Hoo mansion. Sub circular with slight tail(?) to NE(?) and damaged(?) to SW. An oil tank lies SW of this damaged area. Circa 1.5m high and 10m diameter (S1). Possible barrow or clapper mound?
Just to S of `Bromeswell bucket' site - see BML 009.
Oct-Nov 2000: following insertion of a storm-water drain across the site of the mound the line of the 6m wide back-filled trench was scanned for finds but nothing of interest was recovered (S2, filed under SUT 036 which was also monitored).
