Poorly Located Monument record RSM 013 - The Mound of Reddisham Hall

In 1765 an Indenture of Settlement relating to the forthcoming marriage between Samuel Guild (of Carlton Colville) and Elizabeth Knights of Redisham was drawn up. The Settlement was to be made by Elizabeth's mother, Susan, and provided `for a livelihood and provision of Maintenance' for her daughter. Susan Knights had a farm `distinguished by the Mound of Reddisham Hall'. She agreed to give Samuel all of the profits thereof together with agricultural equipment and the stock (in return for 30 pounds per year which had to be paid in Reddisham church porch) but retained the (farm) dwelling house (S1). This suggests the mound of Reddisham Hall was the site of a former Reddisham Hall and was probably situated near (Great) Redisham church (RSM 006), possibly the large platform at RSM 002. Little Redisham Hall (Ringsfield 005) lies about a mile N of the church.
