Full Description

Cropley Park, Lidgate, shown on Bowen's 1755 & Hodskinson's 1783 maps (S1). Largely gone(?) by 1836 when only Parkhouse (the original great house?) and driveway is shown (S3). The house had gone by 1958 (earlier OS maps need checking). Park bounds marked very approximately on HER map after (S2). Site of former deer park, recorded between 1316 (cal. Pat. Rolls 1313-1317, p503) and 1550 (R Hoppitt PhD thesis, UEA, 1992). Formerly recorded as LDG Misc.
