Full Description

Site of large brick works shown on first (1880s) and second editions (1904) OS maps (S1) and on 1st ed 1" 1834 OS map (S3). Shown to be disused on 1958 OS map (S2).
Also listed in (S4) as Kiln Farm. Operated by John Clarke 1783, Robert Wright 1844-1858, George Wright 1864-1865, George & John Wright 1869- 1875, George and Reuben Wright 1879, George & Reuben Wright 1883-1892 and Reuben Wright 1892 (S4).
However, there were up to 4(?) `works' in Woolpit and some confusion may exist over the locations. Note Kiln Farm is the location of the Kiln Lane brickworks to the N, WPT 022.
