Full Description
`Amor House , in 1855 was occupied by a farmer (Cotten Herbert?), with a smaller manor attached to it, was appropriated to the Abbey of Albemarle in Normandy in 14th century and afterwards to Dartford Nunnery in Kent in 1371. Was granted at the Dissolution (in 1538) to Sir Percival Hart. On the same estate was a church called Felchurch or Velchurch of which no traces reamin' (S1) - see WSH 006.

Amor Hall in 1086 was believed to be the lands of the Countess of Albemarle. In 1214 it was linked to Harkstead (William de Fornbus(?), 7th Earl of Albemarle) and in 1650 linked to Woolverstone (Sir Thomas Bedingfield) by 1764 linked to Copdock (Thomas de Grey) and in 1899, John Hales was the owner (S4).
The existing brick built building is very small - probably originally much larger?
