Full Description
Small oval enclosure(?), circa 20m by 40(?)m. Possible entrances at E end and S side (S1).
Also two ring ditches, BUC 049 & 050, in same field.
An oval ditched enclosure of unknown date and function is visible as a cropmark circa 500 metres to the south east of Bucklesham County Primary School, Bucklesham parish, centred on circ TM256416. The ditch measures between roughly 1.5 and 3.5 metres wide, enclosing an area approximately 20 by 30 metres in size, the longest axis orientated roughly north-east to south-west. The cropmark is faint at two points on the south-eastern side, possibly caused by two breaks or entrances across the ditch. This feature may be a mortuary enclosure, a type of structure thought to date from the Neolithic or early Bronze Age period. (S2)
