Full Description
Site of Stratford Mill, named and marked on OS 1st edition (S1) and later maps. Construction date 1825. `Became known as the `macaroni' mill (used for manufacture of macaroni which business closed in 1890). Used by Home Guard during (1939-45) war. Demolished 1947/48' (S2).
Built (at this location) in `1825 in white brick 86ft x 48ft x 5 floors, as a corn mill with iron breast wheel 9ft diameter x 14ft wide and 24 HP beam engine by John Hall of Dartford. She drove 12 pairs of stones and had two, and later three marble macaroni runners and pans. Closed in 1890. Demolished 1947/8' (S3).
