Full Description
Dovecote suggested by plot (number 88) named, `Dovehouse Close', in Monks Eleigh tithe and apportionment (S1). Dovecote presumably associated with Highlands `Farm' complex? Although note ring ditch/circular enclosure, MKE 003, in adjoining field.
In Pevsner, Highlands Hall is recorded as a `hall house with the date 1594 on a beam' (S2).
Dove House Close was part of the freehold of Robt Monnynge, gent of Higlens (Highlands Hall, S wing of which is said to be older - C15th?, when still named Nalter House) in 1599 (letter and map of 2001 by John B Weller in parish file).
Formerly recorded as MKE MISC
