Full Description

July 1997: Monitoring and part excavation uncovered evidence of a previously unknown prehistoric site. A natural hollow/depression in chalk subsoil was found containing a buried soil with burnt & struck flints, animal bones and flint gritted pottery. There was also an irregular grouping of post holes which also contained charcoal and suggests the site may have been a former settlement site. Details in (S1).
