Full Description

November 1997: Watching brief in house footing trenches in plot of land between High Street and The Green located (Med?) clay surface/floor at circa 90cm depth, beneath circa 40cm of brown sandy loam. No directly related finds though one sherd of glazed C16 pottery at base of trench elsewhere and one unstratified handle of C13/C14 pottery from trenches. All overlain with crushed chalk and walls (from buildings shown on maps of 1975, 1959 & 1839). Details in (S1).
