Full Description

Eleven Rom brooches currently held at Brewhouse Yard Museum in Nottingham. Part of a (?Fernie) collection also comprising of one medieval annular and one Anglo-Saxon small-long brooch, labelled as `Saxon & Roman Fibulae - brooches or cloak pins. Found at Bury St Edmunds and London'. Tag numbers that still exist for the Roman brooches include 54, 59 & 61. Items passed onto museum from Nottingham dealer in 1950, having been bought between the two World Wars (S1).
