Full Description

'Stone Bridge' named beside 'Stone Bridge Farm' on Thos Warren's map of Bury 1791 (S1). Probably Med bridge on main (Clare) southwards road out of Bury.
September 1999: Small brick arched entrance to tunnel on W side. Viewed with torch (not accessable due to gridded screen). Series of various period builds of early brick visible in distance in sinuous tunnel, potentially also stone arches beyond distance of visibility (S2).
