Ancient Woodland as defined in (S1). For details of history and earthworks see (S1), the Suffolk Wildlife Trust, English Nature, the County Council Countryside Section and various Oliver Rackham works including (S2). Linear features visible in the northern half of the wood (seen by Judith Plouviez during IDDC detecting rally summer 2000).
