Ancient Woodland (26 ha) as defined in (S1). For details of history and earthworks see (S1), The Suffolk Wildlife Trust, English Nature and the County Council Countryside Service (Peter Holborn and Geoff Sinclair) and various Oliver Rackham works including (S2).
Boundaries expanded to W & N (where woodland now gone) to agree with those shown on tithe map of 1843.
