Full Description
Group of three (+) buildings named Haverhill Chapel on Hodskinson's 1783 map. In 1839 , 1867 (& 1981) named Chapel Farm, a range of buildings on either side of Haverhill & Little Wratting parish boundary (S3). Possibly(?) associated with Boyton Hall to east - nearby is a placed "called The Mount, where, I believe proofs have been shown that it was a burial place" (S3). Probably Chapel of Alderton (Alwarton 1474; Alverton 1489; Aldyrton 1503; Althirton 1514; Alderton 1522)(Luerabilis & Alderton Street are also spoken of) mentioned in wills of C15/C16 (S2,S3,S4).
Chapel Farm cottages, mid 19th century, with many of the ashlar quoins from a former chapel on the site called "Le Nether Church". (S5,S6)..
