Full Description

Ancient woodland as defined in (S1). For details of history and earthworks see (S1), The Suffolk Wildlife Trust, English Nature, the County Council Countryside section and various other Oliver Rackham works including (R1). S boundary far more irregular on tithe map.
NW boundary also appears far too straight (even on Hodskinsons 1783 map) so prusumably results from loss of Woodland which probably originally extended to irregular field boundary to N (and to W - Hodskinson shows it extending to the road.
