Full Description
This church lies in the diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, the archdeaconry of Sudbury and the deanery of Thedwastre. Status: rectory (S1)
The structure is: chancel, nave, W tower, N porch. The porch is Perpendicular, the chancel was rebuilt in 1873, but the rest of the church is Decorated. (S1)
On the N side of the nave there are panelled battlements. The nave was restored and re-seated in 1878 and 1899. The E wall has been rebuilt with brick. The font is Perpendicular, C15, and is a stone octagon. It is really two fonts; the base is the mutilated bowl of another font. The N porch is C15 and has exceptional windows for a porch and battlemented transomes. (S2)
The church underwent a general restoration in 1878 under Herbert J Green. (S2)
