Full Description

Site of Stamford Bridge - named bridge on SW side of Bury. Named on documents of 1720 (S1) & 1741 (S2, shown on plan). Shown as bridge on Bowen's 1755 map but not on Hodskinson's 1783 map. Construction date unknown. Present bridge appears 20th century rebuild (S3).
