Full Description

'At Wyken .. a large red mound containing countless fragments of brick is annually visible after ploughing at TL 961 721' (S1). Close to Kiln Wood (SNT 034). 'Documentary evidence confirms that bricks were being made at Wyken in the C16 and C17 (S1). Shows as oval red and black patch, circa 20m N-S by 30m E-W on colour vertical AP of 1999 (S2). Kiln site?
Note: Large areas of ploughed out possible former pits on fields to SW and S (S2).
