Full Description

2003: 18 trenches were opened in Area 7, Rendlesham but produced no archaeological evidence. The area lies within 100m of known Saxon findspots but modern footings in the north eastern corner of the site created disturbance in the area closest to these findspots. The entire area had also been subjected to deep ploughing, (S1).

2004: Monitoring revealed no further archaeology, (S2).

Descriptions of flint finds are broad, dating to a specific period bracket is ill-advised. However, they may be later Prehistoric, based on details of discovery, (S3).
