Full Description

Group of buildings depicted in centre of St Andrews Street, just SW of Risbygate (BSE 067) and outside town defence line (BSE 139)(S1). More detailed mapping by Warren of Guildhall Feoffment holdings records one of these structures as 'Watch House' (R1). An earlier map of 1740, by Alex Downing, appears to show some symbol other than a building at this location (S2). For further structure in the centre of St Andrews Street (south) shown on Downing's map, see BSE 250 & 251.
