Full Description

Evaluation consisting of three trenches revealed flint packed and clay slots, probably representing the foundations of the missing range. The foundations were shallow and nothing was found to survive of the floor surface, which may indicate the ground level has been truncated (S1).
An evaluation was carried out as a result of an application to extend this early-15th-century timber-framed 'wealden' house. The proposed extension was on the site of the missing upper end of the main range. Three hand-dug trenches located the foundations of the original front and back walls, but the end wall was not found, nor were any internal floor surfaces. (S2).
Previously numbered RGH Misc.
