Full Description

Probable Ancient Woodland (formerly within Fornham All Saints parish). Apparently shown on maps of Ogilvy (S1) and Jos Hodskinson (S2) and later. Named Covey Wood on Hodskinson and Westley Old Warren Wood on 1836 OS map, Old Warren Wood since then. Appears to be largely extant (with earthwork survival?).
Sinous bondary and early mapping and name all suggest early origin though not listed in the Nature Conservancy Council's Suffolk (draft) Inventory of Ancient Woodland in 1992.
See WLY 004 for associated (?) rabbit warren.
