Summary

An area of earthworks, possibly forming field systems, pre-dating Woodbridge airfield (SUT 197) was visible on aerial photographs on Upper Hollesley Common. Earthworks which may relate to Second World War activity in the area have been recorded separately (SHER HLY 121), as have two possible areas of ridge and furrow or dole strip cultivation (SHER HLY 120).

An area of earthworks, possibly forming field systems, pre-dating Woodbridge airfield (SUT 197) were visible on aerial photographs (S2)-(S10) on Upper Hollesley Common. These features may relate to activities such as warrening or from a division of the common land into shares or parcels (S1). Earthworks which may relate to Second World War activity in the area have been recorded separately (SHER HLY 121), as have two possible areas of ridge and furrow or dole strip cultivation (SHER HLY 120).
